Board members from the Foundation and the Friends will be on hand to serve cake until we run out of cake or 4pm, whichever comes first.
You can now spread your online donation out over several months or quarters using your PayPal account. It’s really easy. We’ve had a good year. Deborah Gitlitz, our Outreach Librarian, has been making contact throughout the City to parent groups, apartment houses, and anywhere else folks gather to take early literacy messages to families. She has been visiting a Head Start program at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. She’s been meeting with Hispanic parents at Boeckman Creek Primary. Ms. Mitsui Asai who is 83 gave a great talk on Japanese Internment during WWII at the February History Pub. She included many personal notes from her experience as a young deportee and what it was like being shunned in the Hood River area after the family’s return. Jan Rippey is holding a birthday cake to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Wilsonville. There are currently about 700 Wilsonville kids signed up to receive books once a month until they turn 5 years old. Over the last 4 years nearly 500 kids have graduated from the program. Wilsonville Library presents, Weaving for the Home, which features the work of Oregon handwoven textile artist Marlene Lloyd. The handwoven textile show runs July 1-31 in the main lobby of the library located at 8200 SW Wilsonville Road.
